Prologue

This is not a modern AMG, a show car, or a digital luxury SUV. It is a pure mechanical Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon from 1984 - built for people who enjoy travel, landscape, silence, simplicity and the road itself.

Its appeal is not in shouting for attention. It is in the way it looks, feels and moves: analogue, purposeful, beautifully mechanical and quietly elegant. Wherever it goes, people stop, look, ask questions and connect with it.

This W460 has been transformed into a compact overland camper while preserving the soul of the original vehicle. The conversion is approximately 80% reversible, and the sale includes original parts and the original engine - attractive both as a travel vehicle and as a rare classic Mercedes project with strong provenance.

Provenance · Italia

A family-owned Italian G-Wagon with a story.

This Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon was previously owned by the current owner's grandfather, who kept it stored inside his large farm garage and used it mainly at weekends - including short trips with his dogs. Not a neglected work vehicle: an already well-kept classic with character, originality and history.

His dream was to restore it and convert it into a small camper for travelling across Europe. After his passing, his grandchildren continued that vision. One of them - a mechanical engineer - began the project during the Covid period with the help of Penta Garage, a respected Italian restoration workshop.

The project took approximately three years and involved extensive mechanical work, restoration, camperisation, electrical work, accessories and final improvements. Almost €30,000 has been invested and documented at a labour rate of €35/h.

The result is a unique W460: mechanically refreshed, visually striking, practical for travel - and still honest to its original Mercedes-Benz character.

Who this vehicle is for

It does not need to shout.
That is exactly the point.

This is not a modern AMG V8 and it is not trying to be one. Buyers looking only for power, noise and show-off luxury should look elsewhere.

This G-Wagon is for travellers, collectors and enthusiasts who understand the value of mechanical simplicity, classic Mercedes engineering, analogue driving and quiet presence - for someone who wants to discover places without filters, in a vehicle with history, character and soul.

Reason for sale

Built to move. Deserves to travel.

The current owner is selling the vehicle because work commitments mean it is not being used as much as it should be. This is a vehicle built to move, travel and be experienced.

It deserves a new owner who will use it for what it was created to do: explore.
